Ascent Classical Academies to Host Author Dr. Leonard Sax

Ascent Classical Academies will host renowned physician, psychologist, and author Dr. Leonard Sax, MD, PhD, on its Colorado campuses May 15-16, 2023.

Dr. Sax has authored four books to date, including Boys Adrift, Girls on the Edge, and the New York Times bestseller The Collapse of Parenting. He has appeared as a guest on the TODAY show, CNN, PBS, and Fox News multiple times as well as other national and international media outlets. He has visited and led workshops at more than 460 schools nationally and internationally over the past 22 years, and has been published in numerous publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, American Psychologist, and the Journal of the American Medical Association among others. 

Dr. Sax holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from MIT as well as his Ph.D. and M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He bases his recommendations on both his extensive clinical experience – with more than three decades of practice and 110,000 office visits – as well as his scholarly research.   

These community events have limited space and registration is required to attend. 

  • Lone Tree campus – Monday, May 15, 6 p.m.  Boys Adrift and Girls on the Edge: A growing proportion of American boys are not fulfilling their potential. Rates of anxiety and depression are rising rapidly. Multiple factors are driving these unwelcome changes. Dr. Sax will share evidence-based strategies to limit and guide kids’ use of social media and video games, and provide guidelines to help your son or daughter to be more resilient, less fragile.
  • Windsor campus – Tuesday, May 16, 6 p.m. Evidence-Based Parenting: Parenting advice too often is a mix of opinion, guesswork, and ideology. Dr. Sax will share evidence-based strategies to limit and guide kids’ use of social media and video games, and provide guidelines to improve the odds of a great outcome for your son or daughter.
